Where Can I Buy Acai? No comments yet
It was amazing how quickly word spread from Oprah’s little studio in Chicago to the rest of the world — and sparked an explosion in interest.
And thanks to Oprah, and Dr. Perricone along with other big-name doctors, researchers and average people who just care about their health, there has been a pretty dramatic rise in demand for this Amazonian superfood here in the U.S. The question “Where Can I Buy Acai?” has been, shall we say, increasing in popularity.
As you would expect, the sudden increase in popularity of acai has contributed to the fact that finding good and reliable sources for it is becoming more and more difficult. This is something we see frequently when a new supplement or food suddenly hits a saturation point.
As health-conscious people across the country begin to scramble to get their own supply, legitimate suppliers can’t keep up with the demand — so we wind up with a lot of pretenders and less-than-ethical manufacturers who are willing to put subpar products on the market to pick up the slack.
Of course this doesn’t mean finding a good source for quality acai is all but impossible. Not even close.
In fact, give me a minute and we’re going to cover a couple of great resources that will help you find some excellent acai sources — and better yet, you’ll even see a really easy way to get a full supply of acai for free.
So definitely stick around for that. It’s going to be worth it.
But first, let’s just go over a few options so that you can judge for yourself which one you think might be best for you.
My Own Experience in Buying Acai
So, now let’s get to the question that’s on your mind — where can I buy acai?
Naturally, I wouldn’t think of writing about buying acai if I hadn’t tried to do it myself, so let’s go through a quick overview of the different things I tried, and why now looking back I realize I should have just gone with the method I’m going to share in a second.
At first I gave frozen acai pulp a try. I’m a tremendous fan of smoothies, so to me it made perfect sense to just add some acai to what I was already drinking.
Where I typically shop — a local Whole Foods — they’re pretty reliable at stocking most items people are looking for. So of course I was definitely excited when I stumbled on some frozen acai pulp nestled there among the frozen broccoli and green beans.
But when I saw that they wanted more than $5 just for a few baggies of pulp, I wasn’t all that excited anymore. Now those were going to wind up being some pretty expensive smoothies.
So I went ahead and checked out other options. So this time I picked up some of those canisters of bulk acai powder you see everywhere. Again, the price they were charging was definitely high.
They were charging more than $30 just for this little jar of powder — and to make matters worse, that was the SALE price. And naturally it wouldn’t be any good unless I found something to mix it with. It isn’t like you want to sprinkle a ton of this stuff on your corn flakes in the morning.
So ultimately neither one of these methods was going to be ideal for either price or convenience. I mean really — are you going to want to buy a freezer for the office, go on your commute carrying a bag full of frozen acai pulp a couple times a week, carry a blender with you everywhere you go, and then to make matters worse, you have to bother everyone in the office while you make your acai smoothie a couple times a day.
That’s just not something that was going to happen.
The powdered form was slightly more convenient, but still, we’re running up against the whole price issue, plus the fact that I still would have had to mix up a “shake” whenever I wanted to take it.
I was looking for convenience. Something I could take with me anywhere, and that would make it easy for me to take every day.
And for me, I was finally able to find the perfect solution. So let’s get to that right now.
If I had just been smart in the first place, I could have saved a lot of time and frustration (not to mention money) by just going with a true acai supplement. It’s a no-brainer, really. You get all of the benefits and none of the hassles of the other acai products.
So here’s what I suggest you do, and what I wish I would have done from the beginning. Go to my Where Can I Buy Acai review page, which has constantly updated reviews and videos that will show you exactly where to get quality acai that’s both convenient and cost-effective.
In fact, right now you can follow a few simple steps that are outlined there and get a full bottle of a really tremendous acai supplement completely free.
I hope that’s been helpful. And best of luck!
